Vending Industry Continues Showing Gratitude with Free Products on Facebook Industry Campaign Thanks Gen Y Consumers For Choosing Vending With “Gratitude Giveaways” on Vend.Love.Win. Facebook Page CHICAGO – February 2, 2012 – Since the National Automatic Merchandising Association (NAMA) launched its Vend.Love.Win. Facebook contest (www.facebook.com/VendLoveWin) in August 2011, it has given away almost $25,000 to consumers who have posted entries to the Facebook page. To continue rewarding Gen Y (ages 18-29) and other loyal vending consumers, NAMA has introduced another way for Facebook users to win prizes. Through “Gratitude Giveaways” posted bi-weekly on the Vend.Love.Win. Facebook page, fans now have a chance to win entire cases of popular Gen Y snacks and beverages. Each Gratitude Giveaway post includes a “word of the day,” which fans must email to the contest’s Gmail account to enter. All winners are then randomly selected. “Once the 2011 Gratitude Tour events ended, we wanted to keep the spirit and excitement alive among Gen Y fans, and the Gratitude Giveaways seemed like a perfect idea,” said Dan Mathews, NAMA Executive Vice President and COO. Mathews cited NAMA research findings indicating that Gen Y consumers prefer vending over other retail outlets for snacks and cold beverages, and that the majority of Gen Y users view vending favorably. “We hope to continue finding creative ways to thank Gen Y for their loyalty to vending.” The following NAMA-member companies, including both newer and major players in the vending industry, have generously donated their products for the Gratitude Giveaways effort: · Frito-Lay (Nacho Cheese Doritos) · Mars (Twix) · Hershey’s (Milk Chocolate Bars) · Kellogg’s (Rice Krispies Treats, PopTarts and Cheez-It mini bags) · Clif Bar & Company (Clif Bars) · Honest Tea · Farley’s & Sathers (Now and Later Original bars, Brach’s Hawaiian Punch Fruit Snacks) · ConAgra Foods (Act II Butter Lovers’ popcorn) · Canteen/Compass Group (box of healthy products sold in its 2bU machine) · Kar’s (Sweet & Salty trail mix) · Van Holten’s (Pickle-in-a-Pouch) · Purity.Organic “Our members’ participation speaks volumes about their passion for the continued growth and revitalization of our industry and their excitement about attracting younger consumers to vending,” said Mathews. The Vend.Love.Win. contest and the Gratitude Giveaways are part of a larger ongoing program dubbed the Industry Growth Strategy. Spearheaded by NAMA and the vending industry in 2011, the program is designed to capture attention and generate excitement for the new machines, products and technologies that are enhancing the vending experience for consumers. In addition to winning free products through the Gratitude Giveaways, consumers can still enter the Vend.Love.Win. Facebook contest for a chance to win $200 for themselves or a charity of their choice, and to be eligible for a $5,000 grand prize. In its first year, the nationwide contest invites fans to post photos or videos of their favorite vending machines or vended products and ends on March 31, 2012. Podcast serves up expert vending knowledge Atlanta, Ga. – January 31, 2012 – When the midday munchies strike, most folks head to the vending machine for something salty or sweet – maybe a caffeine blast – to help power them through the rest of the workday. A unique service offered by A&M Equipment Sales, Inc., a local vending equipment dealer, has turned that idea of a break on its ear, offering up bite-sized podcasts that can help vending operators build and expand their businesses. “We believe The Vending Business Show is the first of its kind,” explained Joe Nichols, owner of A&M Equipment Sales. “Any vendor with Internet access can download our podcasts and, in 10 minutes or less, learn from industry experts how to service customers, build loyalty and increase revenues. They can download in the evening and even listen as they travel to customer sites, so there’s not even any downtime for the education.” The Vending Business Show is a series of podcasts residing on A&M Equipment’s website, http://www.amequipmentsales.com/blog/category/vending-business-show/. Essentially, these are 10-minute educational interviews that discuss the nuts and bolts of the vending business; current podcasts cover everything from the best ways to organize warehouse space and delivery trucks, to marketing at individual machines, to post-sale care for new and existing customers. Without requiring sign-up fees or even asking visitors to give up their e-mail addresses in order to listen, A&M Equipment is providing a truly unique service. “Our goal is to educate vending operators and middle managers, bringing specific industry expertise – which would normally cost them thousands, not to mention the time required – to their individual operations,” Nichols said. “It’s a ‘win’ for everyone.” |

Unity-based agency helps to reunite kidnapped girl, father---- with the help from vending sticker sponsors $$$! The six-member rescue team spotted the kidnapped California girl outside a home in Mexico.
"It was awesome," said Mark Miller, a team member and group founder, who recounted the rescue. "She's excited and happy to be home." The rescue ended a 16-month search for the child, whose Bolivian mother abducted her, Miller said. A warrant was issued for her mother's arrest through Van Nuys police, he said. American Association for Lost Children, a nonprofit group founded in 1987, has successfully found or recovered more than 165 missing children through the United States, Germany, Lebanon, South Korea and Mexico, according to Executive Director Patricia L. Moore. Leahlani was leery at first when her father approached her but she warmed up quickly, Miller said. The rescue mission began in March, when Leahlani's father learned of his daughter's possible whereabouts through a friend. "He had an idea of possibly where the child might be in Mexico," Miller said. He and others began the process of verifying that Leahlani was abducted. They needed various documents to enter Mexico and ensure their return. Johnson said his priest's black clothing made the trip easier. "It helped out a lot because we got respect going through airports and other areas," he said. It was nice to see that even gang members have reverence for the clergy, said Johnson of Latrobe. "I found out I had to watch my language a little bit," Johnson joked. "She dancing and can't wait to go back to school," Miller said. American Association For Lost Children, Inc. |
